The earspoon is the precursor of the cotton swap. Viking men groomed their beards with tweezers. To ensure that they could be presentable, they often wore their earspoon and tweezers as a set on their belts. Such sets are often found in Scandinavia and Frisia.

Slave collar, 10th or 11th century, Dublin, Ireland, iron.

This collar is a rare archaeological evidence of the Vigings slave trade. It was found in Dublin, an important Viking slave market. The iron ring was placed tightly around the slaves neck. A rope or a chain could be attached to the loop.
